Merritt W. Shrieves, Jr. 80, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin. Born in Salisbury he was the son of the late Merritt W. Shrieves, Sr. and Bernice Shrieves. Junior was a United States Army Veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He enjoyed going to Busch Gardens every weekend with his wife Juanita where they had a yearly pass. He is survived by three children, Glen Shrieves and wife Nancy, Greg Shrieves and wife Tracy, Jeff Shrieves and wife Malissa; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several...

Merritt W. Shrieves, Jr. 80, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin. Born in Salisbury he was the son of the late Merritt W. Shrieves, Sr. and Bernice Shrieves. Junior was a United States Army Veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He enjoyed going to Busch Gardens every weekend with his wife Juanita where they had a yearly pass. He is survived by three children, Glen Shrieves and wife Nancy, Greg Shrieves and wife Tracy, Jeff Shrieves and wife Malissa; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several special nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Juanita R. Shrieves; two sons, Phillip Ray Shrieves and Calvin Lee Shrieves; four brothers, Jack, Bill, Herbert, and Leonard Shrieves; and two sisters Mary Ellen Hall and Gladys Marshall. A funeral service to celebrate Junior’s life will be held Monday at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Wicomico Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Junior to the Fruitland Fire Department, PO Box 70, Fruitland, MD 21826.
